Your conversations

The app turns audio into text on your Mac. It does not save audio, transcripts, questions, or conversation history to disk. Conversation text is held in memory during an active session and cleared when the session ends. Copying a question to your clipboard is an action you choose.

Private and Hosted

With Private, conversation content stays on your Mac. With Hosted, conversation text goes through the app's service to Anthropic only when you ask for a question. Audio is never sent.

An ordinary press sends recent conversation context and a bounded running thread. Choosing a breadth sends the conversation so far. In long Hosted sessions, the app may send the newest portion that fits and tells you when this happens. The app does not send conversation content between requests.

Hosted requests are processed by the service and Anthropic under their applicable data-handling terms. The app's promise not to save conversation history does not mean a cloud provider has no operational retention. Ask before using Hosted with confidential or sensitive conversations, and obtain the permission of the people involved.

Launch updates

If you sign up for launch updates, we collect your email address and signup time to let you know when wider access opens. If you answer the optional “How did you find us?” question, we also collect that selected category to understand how people discover the app. We use it as self-reported information, not as a record of your browsing. The form is processed by Formspree, which stores submissions and sends them to our inbox. We do not sell your address or add it to an unrelated mailing list.

Formspree may process technical information to deliver the form and prevent abuse. See Formspree's privacy policy. To leave the list or request deletion, email hello@betterquestion.app.

This website

The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure. Hosting providers process ordinary request information, such as IP address and browser details, to serve and secure the site. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or browser storage for a visitor profile. The product demonstration uses made-up examples and never accesses your microphone.
